Visiting Kitchener
Kitchener is a vibrant, confident and cosmopolitan community, located in
the Region of Waterloo, in the heart of southwestern Ontario. Our city
is part of one of the most diverse and dynamic economies in North
America, built on the foundations of entrepreneurship, innovation and
education.

history, hospitality and progress. We offer our citizens, visitors and
corporate residents a rich urban life, balanced with a never-ending list
of cultural and recreational activities. Our city is literally alive
with festivals, events and activities all year.
While you’re with us:
Visit our authentic Your Kitchener Market, where almost all products
sold are locally produced and where quality and freshness are
guaranteed.
Take the kids to experience our brand new Waterloo Region Children’s
Museum, a place where art and technology meet to stimulate, create and
motivate young minds.
Stop by Woodside, our National Historic Site and boyhood home to wartime
Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, which has been carefully
restored.
Check out what’s happening at The Aud, Kitchener’s premier sports and
entertainment venue which has hosted such prestigious events as
curling’s Scott Tournament of Hearts and Canada’s junior team selection
camp.

museums – Doon Heritage Crossroads or Joseph Schneider Haus. At Doon,
view an accurate reconstruction of a 1914 Waterloo County rural village.
At Joseph Schneider Haus, the city’s oldest Mennonite homestead has been
restored to circa 1850.
Or enjoy a breath of fresh air along our extensive trails network next

We also invite you to visit our K-W Symphony, our world-renowned, annual
Oktoberfest celebrations, the K-W Art Gallery, or take in a show at K-W
Little Theatre. These are just some of the things you’ll find to do in
Kitchener….the list is endless. |
